Moritzburg Hunting Lodge

Hunting is the highest of courtly passions, and Moritzburg
Hunting Lodge is the purest manifestation of such passion:
perched on a large base in the middle of the water, surrounded
by Baroque gardens and almost immeasurable hunting grounds.
This was the preferred setting for Augustus the Strong's hunting
parties, where he seldom missed his target. My guided tour
of the Lodge leads through large banqueting halls and small,
intimate chambers, and it deals with the leather wall coverings,
antlers and historic furniture as well as with hunting habits.
